Bradley Park Community Concerts in July
July 15, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Cormac was born in Ohio, but rooted in rural New England since the age of ten. Though the area was small, his musical influences were not: his father’s love for jazz and classical music introduced Cormac to everything from Errol Garner to Beethoven. Some of his music awards and nominations over the years included Best Folk Music Award: 19th annual Spotlight on the Arts Awards, Best New Albums: Troubled Sleep, Boston Music Awards: Nominated Outstanding Folk/Acoustic Album and Outstanding Folk Act, Boston Globe Ten Best Folk Concerts: Christy Moore and Cormac McCarthy at the Sanders Theater, Seacoast Music Awards: Best Songwriter and Best Male Vocalist.
Cormac recently released his 5th CD – Collateral… In these beautifully honed lyrics, each as rich in detail and emotion as a short novel, the listener divines the apotheosis of the mundane—that celebration of the common heart of America.
“A distinctive songwriter with a warm, powerful, inherently melodic baritone, a fine guitarist and a devastating wit … enormous writing gifts, capable of putting chills into your spine or a silly grin on your face…” Jeff McLaughlin, The Boston Globe
