Fryeburg Maine receives Certified Business Friendly Community Designation.
At the direction of the Economic Development Committee. Katie Haley completed the application process. The Town of Fryeburg is the first community in Oxford County to be recognized for this designation.
The Program of Work for 2016 includes:
- Supporting the Goals and Strategies of the Town of Fryeburg’s Comprehensive Plan
- Continued involvement in the Economic Development of the Town of Fryeburg through representation on the town’s Economic Development Committee. The ED Committee meets on the fourth Monday of the month at the Town Hall at 6:00 PM. All are welcome.
- The creation of a Tourism Marketing Plan
- Continuous maintenance of http://fryeburgbusiness.com/
- e-blasts sent to members to keep them informed.
- Four educational and networking membership meetings (see schedule below).
- Flower Pots and Monument planting from June 1 through Foliage.
Governance Plan for the Fryeburg Business Association
Due to a very busy summer season and Fryeburg Fair in October the Board of Directors has confirmed that the business of the Fryeburg Business Association will be conducted during the months of Jan. through May, September and December. Therefore an 8 month active governance schedule. Access to the President and the Administrator is available year round. Any member is welcome to attend a Board of Directors Meeting to observe. The Board of Directors will meet at 6:00 PM at the Admiral Peary Inn on the following dates for the 2016 membership year:

Fryeburg Business Association Membership Education Plan
The Fryeburg Business Association will be presenting four (4) educational programs a year for members and interested parties to provide educational opportunities, resources to improve your business management skills and awareness of collaborative programs to assist you in promoting your business locally, statewide and regionally.
Those programs are scheduled as follows:
January 27, 2016 – FBA Annual Meeting – Saco River and Tourism, Leura Hill Eastman Performing Art Center, 6:30 – 7:00 Networking with refreshments 7:00 – 8:30 Meeting
March 30, 2016, 7:00 to 8:00 – How to Keep the Town of Fryeburg’s Comprehensive Plan Off the Shelf. Fryeburg Fair Grounds
No plan is perfect! A plan is meant to guide action and to provide the flexibility to make changes as the plan is worked and new ideas spring from those efforts. We will hear from State Department Heads who provide resources, Comprehensive Committee Chair and other guests in an effort to engage our business community in the process. It is only through your involvement that the plan becomes a living document. Be a part of the change you want to see.
